Technical Services
Technical Services provides a wide variety of technical support for the research, instructional and administrative
missions of the Psychology Department. Although Psychology Department laboratories and staff are given priority,
Technical Services provides assistance to departments and organizations throughout the university community and beyond.
The area is primarily engaged in the following:
- Design, fabrication, and maintenance of electronic and mechanical laboratory equipment and systems.
- Installation, upgrading, and repair of computers, computer peripherals, laboratory and audio/visual equipment.
- Development of data acquisition and operant control computer software.
- Design and production of presentation graphics for lectures and professional meetings. User-available printing and printing services.
- Supervision and maintenance of the Faculty/Student shop facilities including wood, machine, and electronics shops. Short-term loan of tools and equipment.
- Minor building and furniture maintenance and installation seismic anchoring.
- Technical consulting and assistance.
- Operation of parts and material stores, and technical library.
Technical Services is a department-subsidized 'self-supporting' unit. All work is subject to labor and material charges.
