Where to Get Hardware Repair
Here are some options for computer repair.

If you are purchasing Apple equipment, especially laptops, it is a good idea to purchase Apple's warranty. It provides you with 3 years of of hardware support and taking your laptop down to the Apple store is convenient. However, you need to purchase the warranty either when you buy the laptop or shortly thereafter. There are 2 flavors of warranty repair. One is Applecare--that provides hardware and low level software support. The other option is Apple Repair Agreement which only covers hardware. Unless you really want their phone software support, buy the cheaper hardware support. No matter what you can always take your laptop into the Genius Bar whether you purchased the warranty or not.
