Web Services

Web space is available for a variety of purposes.

The Psychology Department Website is hosted in the department.  It is based on a content management system called Plone.   Staff members are responsible for updating the content on most of the site.  Faculty members who would like web space for their own research labs may request space in the "psych" domain, and it is usually assigned to and managed by faculty members for the duration of their time at UCLA.  Faculty members may contact Dave Margolis (web@psych.ucla.edu) to discuss options for web space for their labs.  Faculty members with departmental webspace will be considered Psych-Webmasters and will be subscribed to this list:

Psych-Webmasters list : http://lists.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/psych-webmasters

We keep in touch with other department members who have responsibility for updating the main Psychology website through this list:

Some other resources for posting information to the world wide web can be found here:

All UCLA members are also entitled to use the Bruin On Line web hosting services.  With a valid UCLA login ID you can create your own individual web site.  View the Bruin On Line website for more information.

Common Collaborative Learning Environment

CCLE stands for UCLA’s Common Collaborative and Learning Environment and it is our customized installation of a product called Moodle.  Similar to Blackboard, this system allows instructors to post their syllabus and a variety of other course related documents in a secure, private area accessible to enrolled students.
