The Science of Relationships: From Romance to Rejection

UCLA Department of Psychology hosted a special presentation and discussion on May 13, 2010.

May 13, 2010, The UCLA Department of Psychology, hosted a special presentation and discussion,"The Science of Relationships: From Romance to Rejection" in the UCLA Faculty Center.  The presentation featured a faculty panel that included Thomas Bradbury (Professor, Clinical Psychology), Naomi Eisenberger (Assistant Professor, Social Psychology), and Jaana Juvonen (Professor, Developmental Psychology).  The panel discussed various aspects of interpersonal relationships that ranged from the connection between the pain centers in the brain and social pain (i.e., rejection), the background and characteristics of bullying, to the development of intimate relationships, and was moderated by Benjamin Karney (Associate Professor, Social Psychology).
