Wireless Router Policy
Best use policy of wireless routers in Franz Hall
Most rooms in Franz Hall have the potential to have at least 2 active network ports. These are meant for computers and printers only. When other devices like hubs or routers are plugged into these ports and configured incorrectly or the cables are plugged incorrectly, it can create havoc for other users on the network. It is preferable to use the UCLAWAN where available rather than set up your own wireless router. If you do set up your own wireless router, please contact IT (x49327 or helpdesk.psych.ucla.edu) to have it configured.
If have already setup a router we ask that you provide us with the room number where the router is located. Secure your router by requiring WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK password for your router. Change the default Administrator password for the management of the router itself.
