IT Support for Emeriti Faculty
Emeriti are eligible for computer support through the Emeriti/Retirees Relations Center (ERRC).
Computer support from the IT unit in the department of Psychology is limited to those emeriti who have current teaching appointments. However, all emeriti regardless of their employment status may receive computer and technical support through the Emeriti/Retirees Relations Center (ERRC) and the UCLA Office of Information Technology.
Through a special effort coordinated by the ERRC the campus offers monthly, drop-in sessions where emeriti can receive one-on-one help with their computers and other digital devices. No appointment is necessary. These workshops are open to UCLA Emeriti only and are free of charge. Emeriti may drop in at any time during the event and they will be paired with a campus IT expert ready to spend time answering their specific questions. In addition to computers, emeriti are encouraged to bring electronic devices like cell phones, Blackberry, IPODs, digital cameras, projectors, Kindles, etc.
These IT support tutorials are offered in the Young Research Library Commons on the First Friday of each month between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. For more information please email the ERRC at email@example.com or call (310) 825-7456.
The first “First Friday” event was on March 5, 2010 and was held in Franz Hall. Psychology IT staff members continue to volunteer for the events. Look for us there!
