The Department of Psychology is currently hiring for an Assistant Project Scientist. Candidate must have a PhD in cognitive, developmental, or educational psychology (or a related field). Job responsibilities include supporting the PI in the design and execution of extramurally funded projects examining teaching and learning from online statistics materials. The candidate should have a strong background in research methods and statistics, including a proficiency coding in R. Job responsibilities include improving an online statistics textbook and the platform on which it’s housed and conducting experiments designed to investigate how to maximize student learning from the textbook. The ideal candidate will have expertise in motivation research, including identifying student needs based on course data and designing/implementing interventions to address them. They will support the PI in experimental design, execution of experiments, data analysis and interpretation, and manuscript preparation, and will also supervise graduate and undergraduate students conducting research projects.
