Dr. Moriel Zelikowsky (Advisor: Michael Fanselow) has just received this year's James McKeen Cattell Dissertation Award from the New York Academy of Sciences.

This national award each year honor's the psychologist with the most outstanding dissertation in the country during the previous year.  Our department announces the winner of our own dissertation award at the Ph.D. Graduation Ceremony each year, and then we nominate our winner for the Cattell award.  Moriel's dissertation is entitled: A Dynamic Circuit: Interactions between the Amygdala, Hippocampus and Prefrontal Cortex Control Context-Sensitive Fear and Extinction.  Congratulations Moriel (and Michael) -- this is truly an honor for you and for our department.
