Email issues - and workaround

As of Thursday, March 17, 2016, we have had reports of some users not being able to send or receive certain email today. A common theme seems to be with attachments. Mail from outside of EM with attachments is not being received, and documents sent from our scanners do not always go through as expected. Life Sciences is looking into this now and they know this is an urgent problem for us. We hope to have an update by the end of the day.
As a workaround, files can be shared with outside users through UCLA Box.
If someone needs to share a file with you, you can invite them to a shared folder where they can upload a document. Please log a help desk request if you need assistance.
Also as an update, we've had several troubleshooting sessions with campus email administrators regarding Mailman duplicates that some users receive. We have suggested several techniques to mitigate the problem at the system and user levels with limited success. We haven’t forgotten about this issue and continue to look for the best department-wide solution.
