The Academic Senate proudly acknowledges Carlos' contributions towards a diverse, impartial, and inclusive academic environment at UCLA.

Professor and Associate Dean Carlos Grijalva was honored at the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Awards Reception on June 5, 2012 along with undergraduate student Sofia Campos, co-chair of a campus support and advocacy group for undocumented students. The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Awards highlights a faculty member and a student who goes above and beyond to achieve "auspicious success (leadership, innovation, initiatives, creativity) in furthering a diverse, impartial, and inclusive academic environment at UCLA." Nominations for the award are collected annually from the entire campus.
