The Psychology and Athletic Departments teamed up to have a two-day event to teach four visiting Ugandan basketball coaches about Coach Wooden and see DVDs of him actively teaching in our department.

Check out the LA Times (front page of Sports Section), LA Daily News, and ESPN articles that have come out from a State Department funded visit by a delegation from Uganda visiting UCLA on January 26 and 27. You will see an inspiring story of a young man, Professor Jens Omli, using sport and coaches trained in Coach Wooden’s philosophy and teaching to help the war torn, traumatized “Invisible Children of Uganda.”  The Psychology and Athletic Departments teamed up to have a two-day event to teach four visiting Ugandan basketball coaches about Coach Wooden and see DVDs of him actively teaching in our department. The Ugandan Delegation is touring around the U.S. and made a special trip to UCLA – the home of Coach Wooden.
