Project Summary:

The current study aims to contextually, culturally, and linguistically adapt the Primary Care Intervention for PTSD (PCIP) for Spanish speaking Latine adolescents and their parents. The PCIP is a three session integrated behavioral health intervention for adolescents who have experienced traumatic events. We have partnered with LA County Department of Health Services to obtain referrals from pediatric primary care centers to deliver the PCIP via telehealth. For the current project, first, the GSR will assist in translating (and back translating) the original PCIP manual. Subsequently, the GSR will assist in the cognitive and usability testing of the manual, materials, and instruments with a convenience sample of Spanish speaking adolescents and providers followed by conducting qualitative semi-structured interviews with providers, patients, and caregivers to assess acceptability. Finally, the GSR will assist in a small mixed methods pilot trial to assess intervention feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness by delivering the adapted PCIP to 10 Latine, Spanish speaking families.
