Description of Organization and Population Served: 
SignShine® provides a variety of services and classes for families and educators of babies and young children. We specialize in using American Sign Language (ASL) for young children’s language development, early literacy skills, and early brain development. SignShine®'s focus is on fun and interactive ways to support the development of healthy minds and healthy children through play, music, and communication to promote school readiness.
Description of Fieldwork Project and Responsibilities of Intern: 
Interning at SignShine offers a unique opportunity to Psychology Majors. Interns have the opportunity to work with children of all ages, including special needs children, and their parents. This position allows for interaction and observation as well as the opportunity to observe different cognitive growth methods. By partnering with SignShine, interns can enhance their communication skills, learn a new language, and gain valuable business management insights. Intern will: • Assist with group classes • Develop public relations and communications strategies increase community awareness • Write a monthly article in the subjects of communication and child development • Participate SignShine® in all social media • Book workshops and seminars at Early Childhood Centers, and educational organization • Research methods for babies and parents to communicate beyond words • Establish relationship which will educate organizations and centers on SignShine®’s work. •
Special Qualifications: 
Qualifications: • Must have strong and polished interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. • Creative, strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects. • Responsible, organized, self-motivated and ethical. • Knowledge of principles of project management. • Some experience in one or two of these areas: management, marketing, or public relations experience. • Working towards a degree in Arts in business, communication, marketing, social work or related disciplines. • Highly organized and able to work well with others and work well with a team. • Interested in research and thinking outside of the box. • The ideal candidate will have previous Knowledge of basic ASL / Baby Sign Language and early childhood development (not a must). • Has the passion to work with people. • Motivated and works well independently.
