Description of Organization and Population Served:
Hollywood HEART is a nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for young adults affected by HIV/AIDS and other at-risk youth to build confidence as well as interpersonal and career skills through our various arts programs and annual summer camp. Our goal is to open the door to a successful future for a growing number of these young people in the Los Angeles area and around the United States. Camp Hollywood HEART gives participants a unique opportunity to learn one of seven art skills taught by Hollywood professionals throughout a week in Malibu overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We also run year-round Educational Arts Workshops, a condensed version of our annual summer camp that provides mentorships in writing, visual, performing, and culinary arts across the United States, through after-school and weekend-long formats. We bring Hope, Education, Arts, Recreation, and Teamwork to children who wouldn't otherwise have opportunities for summer camp, movie making, or life skills enhancement.
