Research and Teaching Interests:

I am primarily a theoretician. I create narrative and mathematical models of human sexuality. My work also focuses on topics like affirmative consent, the vestiges of grievous psychological harm, and the protection of sexual rights for individuals who have been marginalized for one reason or another. Recently, I’ve also waded into the waters of medical humanities; art and severe trauma. How do artworks, vitalized by descriptive input, illuminate the psychological sequelae of tragedy? Attached below is a recent UCLA Newsroom feature cover story about some of my work. A case that involved racial animus, police corruption, and a wrongful conviction of murder.
