Megan E. Daly Infant Development Program

The Megan E. Daly Infant Development Program (IDP) is designed as a teaching and research facility for the Department, and is set up to accommodate both cross-sectional and longitudinal investigation of infants, toddlers, their parents and caregivers. In addition, the Program provides an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students in developmental and other areas to acquire first-hand experience working with infants and toddlers on an individual basis or in a group setting.

IDP has two primary functions:

  1. to offer quality group care for infants and toddlers of the students, staff, and faculty of the Psychology Department and other departments on the UCLA campus, and
  2. to serve as a teaching and research facility for the Psychology Department and the UCLA community

Since the IDP was established in May 1983, it has served approximately 15 children and their parents each year and has trained an average of 15 students per quarter. The program accomodates children from 3 months to 3 years old, operating year-round from 7:30am to 5:30pm.
