IN PERSON INSTRUCTIONS
When you arrive for drop-in advising, intake staff will record your questions and place you on the waitlist to see an advisor. Wait times vary, and arriving early during drop-in advising shifts increases your chances of a shorter wait. Please be aware that during busy times, like enrollment, drop-in appointments fill up quickly, and you may need to return the next day due to high demand.
ZOOM INSTRUCTIONS
1. In order to access the Zoom session, you will need to sign into your UCLA zoom account (https://ucla.zoom.us/).
2. Once you have entered the Zoom, all students will wait in the waiting room until they are brought in individually by an intake advisor. Please be prepared to show your BruinCard to the intake advisor upon entering. Since we anticipate that there may be an influx of interest in this zoom advising option, we appreciate your patience during this process.
3. While some students may be able to have their questions answered by the intake academic advisor, others may need a more in-depth advising session. For these students, you will be placed in an advising lounge breakout room until the advisor brings you into their one-on-one breakout room. There will be other students in the advising lounge breakout room, but feel free to keep your camera off and microphone muted until you join an advising session.
4. Please stay by your computer or mobile device so you can promptly accept the invitations to each breakout room. Students who leave or do not respond may lose their advising position.
5. Advising sessions will last up to 15 minutes – beyond that, please consider sending additional questions to MyUCLA Message Center or attending drop-in advising on another day.
