Prof. Vickie Mays Receives APA Presidential Citation

Congratulations to Distinguished Professor Vickie Mays, who was honored for her contributions to psychological science and public policy with a Presidential Citation from APA President Jennifer Kelly during the May 16, 2021 Advocacy Summit: Stand for Science to Advance Psychology.

The citation recognizes Dr. Mays’ research and its impact on policies to address health disparities and especially the contextual factors that surround HIV/AIDS and COVID in communities of color. APA President Kelly noted, “As a psychologist committed to breaking down social and political barriers, Dr. Mays’ tenacity and perseverance have fueled and guided her path to eradicate inequities that lead to the marginalization of communities of color.”
