UCLA Fellowship in Political Psychology

Congratulations to Felix Danbold (Social Area), Ivuoma Onyeador (Social Area), and Jesús Serrano-Careaga (Social Area) for receiving awards from the UCLA Fellowship in Political Psychology. This endowment was established in response to an anonymous gift on December 17, 1999.  The fellowship is for doctoral students specializing in political psychology, the study of mass politics, and/or intergroup relations. Recipients of the award will on collaborative research with faculty.

43 graduate students received the 2016 Graduate Division Graduate Summer Research Mentorship, which awards a $6,000 stipend for conducting research under the close mentorship of a faculty member this summer.

Congratulations to Christopher Begeny (Social Area) for receiving the UCLA Academic Senate Distinguished Teaching Award for Teaching Assistants!

Only 5 graduate students are chosen each year to receive this prestigious teaching award, which honors individuals who exhibit leadership in teaching and public service and bring respect and admiration to the scholarship of teaching. The award includes a Dissertation Year Fellowship, which Chris will receive during the 2016-17 academic year.

Alexandra Stolyarova Receives Award, Selected to Attend RIKEN BSI and BMM Summer Course

Alexandra Stolyarova, a first-year Behavioral Neuroscience student has received the International Behavioral Neuroscience Society Travel Award for the 2016 meeting in Budapest, Hungary. Award winners will receive a cash award, certificate, and waiver of registration fees.  Travel awardees will present orally and will also have their research presented in a poster session.

Congratulations to Clinical Psychology graduate student Hannah Williamson on receiving the U.S. DHHS, Administration for Children & Families, Strengthening Family Scholars grant which provides $25,000 to support dissertation research on Healthy Marriage/Responsible Fatherhood policy issues which focus particularly on underserved/understudied populations, such as low-income families and minority population, utilize rigorous methodology, and help inform the development of future intervention research.
